I went to pay a friend of mine a visit in his music recording studio some years ago and a voice was crooning into the microphone in the recording booth. I couldn’t help but wonder where the man got his idea for the song from because the lyrics, riding on a groovy reggae beat that my friend was quite proficient at making, were “money is the root, money is the root, money is the root of all evil” I looked at my friend whilst repeating the words out to him to be sure I was hearing properly. He smiled and replied the puzzled look on my face saying “just let him be”. He had seen many of his type so he had gotten used seeing this sort of display of ideology. If money were the root of all evil as the man was suggesting in his song, it implied the album he was doing could also be termed evil since he paid money to do it. The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil… (1st Tim. 6:10). Perhaps the next few lines of thought portray “who” I think money is:
Money walks…towards those who offer goods and services.
Money talks…describing the inner state of mind of the one who suddenly acquires it
Money sees…the {hidden} flame of passion burning in the mind of the one working towards a financial goal.
Money feels…it’s honored by those who rule over it as good masters and hurt by those who make it their lord and master.
Money flies…far away from the one lacking frugal prudence.
Money grows…inviting its relatives and folks of other denominations to the one who follows the principles and laws of sowing and reaping, via investments for harvest.
Money flows…like electricity, measured in units of current towards the one current in the affairs of currencies.
Money hates…those who love it so much that they forget they are to use it to make people and not make it using people.
Money hears…the call from the heart of a man who truly desires the thin “un-living” thing…Money.
Getting the concept of money right is one thing everyone needs to do if we are to get to our goal of financial independence.
