The good news is grounded in the CROSS of CALVARY
Paul was well aware that the Gospel of the CRUCIFIED CHRIST would
Not be very attractive--he knew that it would be a hindrance too many

Today many in the church bypass the CROSS
They are in the church but have no attachment to the CROSS of CALVARY
Paul preached the centrality of the CROSS
Christ is the centrality of God; the mystery of time
His purpose is Divine; no wonder the Cross will always shine

The world is trying to eliminate the CROSS of CALVARY
Christians must not eliminate the CROSS of CALVARY
From their SPEECH, LIFESTYLE and VISION

The CROSS will always offend because
We were supposed to be on that CROSS
However, Jesus took our PLACE

The message of the CRUCIFIED CHRIST WAS not a friendly message
It was an insult too many and an oxymoron to the Jews

Today we must continue to preach this offense message
However, Christians are trying to make the message of the CROSS attractive
The result has been that people
Come to know about Jesus without the right understanding

Gentiles viewed crucified men with disdain and contempt and
So the so-called intellectual will always have problems with Calvary
However, we should not allow this viewpoint by the world to
Distract our presentation of the Gospel because we know that
It is the Power of God unto SALVATION

The Gospel will always offend but we must
Continue to defend the OUR position from HEAVEN
