Gladness is felt that we had talked, 
  that we had talked about us. 
Grateful to God I had not balked,
  finding diamonds in rust. 

Then you said you now feel free, 
  adding to this high blessing. 
My heart danced with its own glee. 
I'm sure I heard Satan's hissing. 

I sense a richness I would have missed
  if I had lived for myself. 
We are two that Grace has kissed,
  guarded in His good shell.

Mark this with joy. Mark it with wisdom.
I'm feeling my need for both.   
It's marked with the blood that gave us the Kingdom.
Sealed by the One true Sharon's Rose.

Use this, dear Lord, for Your pleasure. 
We're privileged to have a small part. 
Work in this to highest measure. 
Just let us walk with Your heart.

You hold two diamonds in Your hand. 
You cut and polish, still working.
You rejoice over Your command, 
Faithful to work without shirking.

Written in response to a reply to an email I wrote to a special friend of mine, Virginia. 

I had written to her about feelings I've had for her since I met her about 18 months ago. Feelings that have grown as I've come to know her. I also stated I perceived that she only saw me as a friend, so I stated I chose to honor that. 

She wrote back she appreciated my words and that she had prayerfully considered me as I had her. The Lord has been silent to our prayers. 

So we both decided to continue our friendship. That choice, for me, has given me the richness of coming to know her as more than a woman, as a sister, friend and person. Something I would have missed if I had pursued her. 

I feel the most blessed.
