Steadfastly minded to go
Where? Often this we don't know
We have a lead to follow
Lover and Lord Jesus Christ
Who for each and every one
Came and paid ultimate price
Death death on cross desperate
To feel His Father's heartbeat
Found effort vain Christ cried still
Steadfastly minded to go

Let us go back in time one night
Gethsemane anguish cross
The wrenching to come pressed heavy
The mind, the human-Divine
Stretched out on His face and begged
Wrenching not happen: cup pass
But Submitted to Father
For sake of ugly you and I
Coming back God glorified
After Communion faced woe
Strengthened by angels—again
Steadfastly minded to go

God doesn't lie life’s a hard roe
To hoe however with and in
Us He will always be giving
Strength each and every day whether
In moments of bliss or pain
And assures true life even here.
The cross proves Christ holds us dear
He keeps us in His strong hand
Eternally safe if we're
Steadfastly minded to go
