As the night falls serenely upon me,
as the sun takes it final showy bow,
as it dips slowly into the deep dark ocean,
let it be Your light – in my life I see.

As I listen to the ebbing sounds of the calm,
as the waves quietly break upon the shore,
as the seagulls cries echo off the water,
let it be Your mercy - that is my soothing balm.

As the moon begins to slowly rise to its crest,
as the stars twinkle and shine, oh so bright,
as the earth continues on its damning orbit,
let it be Your love – that beats in my chest.

As the night turns into its peaceful state,
as the turmoil of another day comes to a rest,
as the world continues to live in the darkness,
let it be Your peace - for which I lie in wait.

As the night turns into yet another day,
as the sun mounts up it sleepy head,
as the universal chaos starts up once more,
let it be Your grace - that sees me on my way.
