The Dangers of Fluoride

For decades now the toxic chemical called fluoride has been in American society and has been used by industry for various purposes.

This strong potent chemical is used to smelt aluminum, and beryllium, and to wrestle molten steel in the smelting process. It is used to enrich uranium in the making of nuclear weapons and to prepare Sarin nerve gas. It is used to make circuit boards for computers, pesticides, refrigerant gases, ski wax, Teflon plastic, carpets, etched glass, bricks and ceramics, and numerous drugs such as Prozac and Cipro.

Yet we have fluoride in our drinking water and our toothpaste under the guise that it prevents cavities, one of the biggest lies ever perpetrated upon the American public for scores of years now.

It is true that since the 1940s the rates of dental decay have dropped significantly but the same results have been seen in countries where fluoride was not added to the drinking water. Improved dental care, good nutrition, and the use of antibiotics are the reason for the improvements.

It was originally an American idea to add to drinking water a chemical so toxic that it was once used as rat poison. It is true that when fluoride is applied topically to each tooth it kills the bacteria enzymes that cause tooth decay but it also leaches into the bloodstream and kills the good enzymes that are the vital chemical catalysts that regulate biological activity.

It is known to cause bone cancer in young boys, damage to the central nervous system, brain damage, arthritis, and numerous lung diseases.

Many children who drank fluoridated water for years had a problem with their teeth known as dental fluorosis, an abnormal condition (a spotting or mottling of the teeth) caused by fluorine or its salt compounds which is fluoride, the same stuff they put in toothpaste and drinking water. Their teeth had white spots and became worn and eroded. Certain hospitals for those with mental disabilities give fluoride to patients to keep them docile, quiet, and passive. This toxic chemical has become a mainstay of modern industry, used by numerous factories, refineries, and mills... but we give it to our children every morning and every night in toothpaste and drinking water.

The scientists who originally promoted fluoride's use in dentistry claimed it promoted better teeth, fewer cavities, and in low doses had no health effects. But these scientists were sponsored by the very same industries that needed the fluoride for their factories and mills, to keep millions of dollars flowing to some of the wealthiest families known to the world such as the Mellons of Pittsburgh and the DuPonts of Delaware.

It all seems like a nightmare, but it happened and continues to happen to this day, the great lie sold to the American public. The truth about fluoride has been disguised and hidden from the public for decades by the very same professionals and institutions who told us it was safe, just as they did about lead, asbestos, and DDT, and even convinced us to smoke more tobacco.

The public was lulled asleep by fifty years of reassurance from supporters of fluoride in the public health system, many doctors today have no idea of the symptoms of fluoride poisoning, the silent killer that has choked our air, crippled and killed many factory workers, and poisoned our drinking water.

Even our dentists have been taught that fluoride is good for teeth, but few people know or have even heard of Dr. Harold C. Hodge who taught a generation of dental school deans in the 1950s and 1960s that fluoride is good for teeth.

A biochemist at the University of Rochester, Dr. Hodge investigated fluoride's toxicity and was the senior wartime toxicologist for the U.S. Army's Manhattan Project, where huge amounts of fluoride were required to build the world's first atomic bomb.

There Dr. Hodge helped to direct the famous human radiation experiments in which hospital patients were injected with plutonium and uranium without their knowledge or consent just to study the toxicity of those chemicals in humans. Dr. Hodge was also responsible for studying fluoride toxicity but hid the truth about the deadly toxic chemical from the public and covertly kept track of one of the nation's first public water fluoridation experiments in Newburgh, New York.

The citizens were told that fluoride would reduce cavities in their children but secret blood and tissue samples were secretly sent to his atomic laboratory for study.

Dentists today do not know that most of the fluoride added to drinking water here in the United States is an industrial waste product that is 'scrubbed' from the smokestacks of Florida phosphate fertilizer mills to prevent it from damaging livestock and crops in the surrounding countryside.

The phosphate companies do not have to dispose of this fluorosilicic acid waste, instead, they sell it to municipalities shipped in rubber-lined tanker trucks to reservoirs across America and then inject it into our drinking water falsely thinking that it helps to reduce cavities in children.

The waste product is so toxic they have to line the truck tanks with rubber, and most dentists do not even know the source of where this fluoride is coming from.

In the 1930s, European scientists had already linked fluoride to a wide range of illnesses such as breathing problems, central nervous system disorders, and various arthritis-like musculoskeletal problems.

Excessive fluoride exposure produced a medical condition known as 'poker back' or 'crippling skeletal fluorosis' in many factory workers.

The bottom line is that we must educate as many citizens as possible about the dangers of fluoride, and they, in turn, can tell their children the real truth about this deadly, toxic, chemical compound or nothing will change and ignorant people in power over us along with greedy industrialists will continue to have it put in common products that we use every day and in our toothpaste and drinking water.
