Words

Words wound or heal
Thrill or steal.

Words can illuminate
Planted to germinate

Words maim and imprison,
Opening sores without reason.

Words can be soothing music
Lifting the spirit of the sick.

Words can separate friends
Make them enemies to the end.

Words can inspire, revive
Be a tonic and a drive.

Words can slowly murder
Or instantly sever.

Words can be a stone
That breaks a bone.
Words can be a stick
that stops your tick.

Words can strenghten the weak,
Plug the pipe causing the leak.

Words can infuriate
Conflagrate, terminate, manipulate.

Words can win, water
Sow seeds that are sweeter
Than honey in the honey comb.

21 The tongue has the power of life and death,
