His candle burning, brightly
in the center of the altar, burning,
source of the flames of all the saints named after
all those we lifted up, saints we have known
saints gone to eternal rest before us
Imperfect saints, those we have loved
burning brightly, their candles,
brightly with the Christ candle
on the altar of the Lord
