FLOATING TOWARD IT.]
[NOD.]
"About what,
My precious."

"Well."

"I don't think
You should expect

not to PICTURE
something,
when we're PRAYIN'!"

[PATIENT NOD.]

"It's not FAIR!
We're HUMANS,
after all!
We're very EMOTIONAL!
And, LIMITED!
We have to PICTURE SOMETHING!"

EYE ON IT.]

picture,

(Thoughtful squint.)

(Squirt dill juice on ole' bathrobe.)

how about a big CHAIR?"

[LAUGH!]

a THRONE....but,
after all, that wouldn't
be AMERICAN."

LORD:

(Louder, even whinier voice.)

[PATIENT PAUSE.]

(Squint.)
(Louder shout.)

[SILENCE.]

(Irritated squint.)

[SMILE.]

(Chomp on second pickle.)
(Juice squirts out.)

"Ah.

incorrigible,
Mein kin'der?"

(Clueless squint.)
(Let cat sniff pickle;
cat stares at it,
and then walks away.)
"WHO?"

[LOVING GAZE.]
[SPRINKLE SOME
MUCH NEEDED RAIN
OVER SAN ANTONIO.]

(Shout up to ceiling,
even louder.)
"So......WHO BUILT
THE MOAT,
LORD?
THAT MOAT?"
(Shout really loud.)
"THE ONE IN FRONT A Y'UR CHAIR?"

[SIGH.]
