In The Dark of Night　



Living one’s life is but a game,

an adventure beyond compare,

wild and bold we can’t be tamed,

moments lived, moments shared.



With excitement, laughter, and tears,

traveling uncharted territory we go,

each new day facing our mortal fears,

the more we learn, the less we know.



Going forward, falling back without gain,

each new step more difficult than before,

for life is a struggle of conflict and pain,

in our home we relax and close the door.



Mystery, romance, mixed love and hate,

consumes our daily thoughts and desires,

we learn a little but usually it’s too late,

caught between floods and burning fires.



In anger we often become ever so mad,

hardly distinguishing wrong from right,

searching for happiness leave us so sad,

laying awake, alone in the dark of night.
