The Cross Road Home

I stood alone at a crossroad, searching every direction, knowing not where to go
I was afraid, cold and lonely; for the path I’d been taking left me nothing to show
For the pain of one life shrouded in sin
And the pain, looking back, at the places I’d been
Only God could save me now
I took the Cross road and I knew
Searching every point of grace, my soul would find its way to You
I took the Cross road; now I’m free
Any chain that ever bound me has been broken and I see
Your face, Your grace, my place in Your plan. Now I’m safe in Your hands
I’ll go where You send and forever I’ll sing from the warmth of Your wings
When I’m gone they’ll say I took the Cross road home

There were days you were crying flowing rivers of sorrow where no joy could be found
Still holding on to burdens you were never meant to carry; you can lay them all down
On the same sacred ground where I first found my way
When I looked up ahead at the love in His face
Then, praise God, the blood rained down
I took the Cross road and I knew
Searching every point of grace, my soul would find its way to You
I took the Cross road; now I’m free
