Putting Work, Before the Word
Psalm 37:37, mark the perfect man and behold the upright for the end of that man is peace; but the transgressors shall be destroyed together, the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
As I sat down this morning to begin my work day God reminded me that I did not take time to read my Word this morning. I said God I am sorry. God replied back to me and said we need to get our priorities in order before it is too late. Too many Christians are putting the work God call them to do before the Word. I repented again and read my Word. Afterwards I was really ready to go to work and do the job I was hired to do with vigor. I noticed that even the day went better and the Word came out of my mouth more than idle talk. I realized that I had fed my soul the proper nutrients needed for that particular day.
The spirit of compromise is alive and working in this world like never before in the lives of Christians. You did run well but who hindered you and caused you to compromise God’s Word? The unfaithfulness of a person to their vow with God causes one to compromise. Putting works before the Word will cause people to submit to their own understanding rather than God. When we accept Christ we make a mutual promise to abide by His Word. We have consented to put away our thoughts, ideas, and ways. We come in agreement with God as Amos 3:3 says. We can walk with God in oneness, one mind, one body, and one spirit. When we fall in love with God he will expose us for who we really are. All of the things we thought we love will be mute.
So many are wondering what they will be remembered for, when Jesus has already left a memoir. Our memories should bring glory to Jesus and His Father. I pray that we will once again get focused and resurrect our relationships with God so that we can go home to glory unblemished.
Many Christians and I myself is guilty of putting God on the back burner when it comes to during our days work and spending time with Him. Yes I am and have been guilty as charged of putting work before the Word. I have a passion for writing Christian living and I found myself writing and studying only what I was writing about but that was not spending that quality time in the Word of Study. I put the work before the Word. The Word brings about that special relationship with the Father.
Christians we are not Jesus, He was the Word and is the Word and He had to spend time alone with His Father and the angels ministered to him. Christians has gotten away from the study of the Word, praying and fasting that they may have the power over the things of the world. All they are is much about nothing. We can only be perfect in the Word when we sup and eat of the table of the pages in the Word. Jesus living in the flesh and dying a fleshly death made the Word perfect and it is only in and through the Word that perfection is perfected in the true believer. We must become a true bible believer, bible reader, and the bible lived through us. This is Christ perfection in the earth. Practice what you preach, live what you preach; do it to the very best of Christ ability working through you. We cannot within our own selves can do nothing but fail. But Christ in us is the hope of glory.
When we look around most of the work going on in Jesus name is vain, because it is more about a man or woman than God. Where is the upright? Who is the upright? The upright is the believer that will stand up for what is right even if they are put to death for righteousness. They are of a honest report, just in their doings, prepare themselves to be perfect in the Word, and they walk to please God and God alone.
When faced with a decision to do things God’s way or conform to the ways of man they choose God regardless if they have to do it alone. Too many are starting out with Jesus but is not ending with Him. It kills the soul of man. The soul, the spirit is deprived of the proper nutrients and die of malnutrition of the spirit man.
Why is this dividing wall among believers still there when Jesus have broken it down? We are separated from each other of our own accord just as we separate ourselves from the Word of God of our own accord. Jesus sent every believer on a mission and that is to win souls for the Kingdom. But you see the Work of God is no longer Kingdom vision, it is man made. It’s what man wants to be perceived as in the earth.
Man has defrauded God, robbed Him of His earthly creation with their disobedient ways. We are working toward judgment rather than obtaining a just weight. All that do unrighteousness is an abomination to the lord. It is not until man’s ways are found out that they are sorry but God gives everyone a time of repentance before they are revealed in their sin.
Why do we crucify Christ afresh? Why do we put our souls in jeopardy of hell’s fire? Our souls are the most precious jewels in the earth entrusted to man, for it is the very breath of God. We have to be very careful in the upkeep of our souls. Our spirit man feeds off of the Word of God. Our flesh man feeds off of the rudiments of the earth. They are in direct contrast of the other so we must make up our minds which we want to serve the more of with one thing in mind; the one you feed the more is the controlling dominant executive of your will
