when I was beyond all reason berserk unhinged fruity
one time when I w a s
out of my mind
when my heart and soul left my
physical body and my mind
b e h i n d

left the center of my being
leaving behind all the things that can be measured by
physical science behind.
when I was out to lunch.

“to lose one’s mind” could I lose my mind
In the chaos and confusion of the drug induced
smog. Misplacing my mind
as I slipped easily out of my skin
like one forgets their keys I failed to
keep my mind in my exhausted state
forgot my mind in my enlightened state
could I even see it coming


Gasping. a fish out of water suffocating in the open air
Gaping. like a rattlesnake
Groping. for gold in 1850
a crazed binge madness with no order
I set my body on auto-pilot quickly turning the knobs,
declared war on my body dead
set on a course of self-degradation
destruction
Total and complete destruction

Out of my mind
walking around without my body
without my mind. I was among the living
dead. Remember the time
when I thought self
-destruction was cool

allowing my self to be lulled asleep
Warning! Warning! I was heading
straight for destruction
Full speed ahead
Hands shaking
Mouth dry
Eyes fixed on the course.
Out Of My Mind.

out of my morals out of place
out of character My mind knew where
it was I was the one who was lost
the worst kind of death is the one that you
don’t know is coming
