Have you ever misplaced or forgotten about something? Or maybe just plain out distracted? I am sure that we all have been in this situation at some point in our lives. So many times we are easily reminded by either something or someone of what we forgot about or misplaced. About a year ago, I took some clothes to the cleaners, as I walked up to the register to place the clothes on the counter; I was greeted by an older gentleman with a smile that was unbreakable. He politely asked me how my day was going and I responded by saying that it’s HOT! He looked at me and said that the next couple of days were going to be even hotter. He asked when I would like to pick up my clothes. And I responded by saying whenever you will have them ready is when I will pick them up. He stated that they would be ready by the weekend and that I could come by than and get them, he gave me the ticket and I was out the door.

Time went past, days turned into weeks, weeks into months and months into a year. Every now and than I would remember that I needed to go and get my clothes out of the cleaners and something would always come up to where either I had something else to do or in midst of a hectic day I would just forget about them. It even got to the point where the owner would initiate the phone calls and ask me to come and get my clothes, every time he called I would have some excuse, “I don’t have the money right now” or that I was either busy and couldn’t talk, or I would just blatantly tell a LIE. Embarrassed that I had left the clothes in the cleaners for so long (PRIDE), not being honest with myself or the owner of the cleaners, I decided that I was going to re purchase the items that I already had.

You’re reading this like ok why don’t you just take the money that you’re using to purchase new items with, to just get the clothes out? That would be like doing the right thing! I tend to react first and think about it later. Just me of course, you would never do anything like that right? (Smile) I would pass the cleaners on my way to my grandmother’s house and would say “I got to get those clothes” I would see my Bible on the table and say “I am going to read some scriptures today” or I am going to get up early to pray” every now and than I would remember what I said I was going to do…………..things happen I remember GOD and what the word says, not realizing that GOD remembered what I said I was going to do to.

So many times I have lost focus on what I am supposed to be doing, what my real purpose in life is, I’ve read plenty of self help books, gone to seminars, in and out of different churches, everybody has a prophetic word to give, trying to give more of myself, only to realize that first I needed to give me, me. I tried to duplicate the things of God and even God himself, telling people what they can and cannot do………speaking foolishness to people, even to myself. Acting like I am saved on the outside, but going to HELL on the inside! I mimicked myself according to what I had seen and heard.

I left my clothes in the cleaners for almost a year, I eventually got the clothes out of the cleaners, praise GOD! My purpose of writing this is because, every now and than we tend to forget why we are here, we take our lives and focus them around the things that the world has to offer, we increase in knowledge what man has to say and take it for face value, while decreasing what GOD has already promised us. God has not forgotten about us, every now and than He calls to us just to let us know that He is still there, and every now and than we remember Him. Every now and than I would remember what I said I was going to do………….. and so does GOD ……….God has not forgotten you, He’s waiting for you to remember Him, He’s waiting for you to find that love for Him that you so easily forgot about or misplaced………..He’s waiting for you! I put my clothes in the cleaners almost a year ago, I purchased duplicates and they didn’t work out so well, I purchased what I already had, (GOD cannot be duplicated), I tried, victory was never the end result. He’s able to do what you cannot do, He’s able to manifest the impossible, and He’s able to see the things that you cannot see………….He’s able!
