JUST MY THOUGHTS

We seem to be bombarded from every side with bad news through the media regarding the economy, the war, the present administration, "my rights", protesting, etc. What is happening in and to our Nation?

Please understand that I realize there are many, many people that are having a very difficult time with lay-offs, house foreclosures, and big business firms going bankrupt. What is the real problem behind it all? I have relatives and friends that are in this same boat of trouble and it is not at all easy. Again, I ask 'what is the real cause behind it all'...some say greed, some mis-management, some blame the administration or anything or anyone they can blame for the mess we find ourselves in.

As I look at the situation from a Christian standpoint, I remember the 'war' between the handmaiden's son and the promised son to Abraham and Sarah. This war between "The Kingdom of God and the satanic kingdom has been going on for centuries and to me we are seeing more physical evidence of this same conflict. The enemy of God, the fallen angel Lucifer, known to us as satan has been trying to dethrone God since he was cast out of heaven. The devil has been trying to eliminate all of God's children for a long, long time but has not had much success and he never will.

What I see can be compared to a large Octopus with it's tentacles extended sucking up anyone or anything that gets in it's way while those in it's path are hollering at each other blaming each other for the predicament they are in.

Remember that God gave Adam and Eve authority over every living thing (not people). They forfeited that right when they disobeyed God and satan became the god of this world (the world system), but not God's kingdom. When Jesus was crucified, buried and raised from the dead, he restored that authority to mankind. We, as believers, have authority over the devil and his works and we need to exercise that authority more than we do. We are entirely too permissive where satan is concerned.

You may ask "what can I, one individual, do?".....Exercise that authority in our daily lives and then in prayer to the Father in the name of Jesus. History records how one person changed this nation and brought about an awakening to God's Kingdom (God's way of doing things). Abraham was one individual, Paul the apostle was one individual, and John on Isle of Patmos was individual, Billy Graham was one individual, John Wesley and too many others to list here but I am sure you get the point. We may not think we are much but God sees us differently. God can use anyone that will allow him or herself to be used to accomplish God's plan.

The cause of the conflict is between the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of darkness and we are the foot soldiers.

Think about it.
