And hath raised us up together,

and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

That in the ages to come he might show us the exceeding riches of his grace

in his kindness toward us through Christ.

- Ephesians 2:6-7.

Blessed is Christ's birth, for it is the power of the Father's word made flesh. Blessed is His crucifixion, for it is the LORD's sacrifice given for the forgiveness of our sins. Blessed is His life, for it is the source and strength of our life now and forever more. Blessed is His resurrection, for it is the shinning glory of eternal grace.

Friend of the living God, the Spirit, through writing the first and second chapters of Ephesians, is telling us plainly that the Father predestined us to receive forgiveness for two reasons. One, that He would take pleasure in adopting us as His children. And two, to sit us in heavenly places in Christ.

Why? Take a look at Ephesians 2:7?

Because it will take Him ages to show us the exceeding riches of his grace. In essence, God's grace is so abundant, that He needs an eternity to reveal His grace to us. The Father, knowing that we need an eternal life to experience His grace, made a provision for us which is Christ Jesus. Thus, it is only through Christ's life that God made it possible for us to live forever to forever behold and experience His grace. This is grand. This is glorious. This is love.

As it is written, "it pleased the LORD to bruise him (Christ); he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. Isaiah 53:10.

Child of the living God, believe that it pleased the Father to make Christ's soul an offering for our sins, so that we would experience the benefits of His love with an eternal life. The Father is willing to cause us to sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might show us the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us.
