Grief

The memories of you are so precious
forever to cherish and hold dear.
Though your voice has been silenced
we feel your presence near.

We wept much at your departure
and we missed your warm embrace.
But our mourning was for a season
because you went to a better place.

We dare not question the Lord’s doing
for He does all things well.
He sets the time and does the calling
and the day only He can tell.

We watched you quietly slip away
and entered into your rest.
Though your absence is strongly felt
we trust that God knows best.

As you turned your face toward the sun
we are sure God took your hand
and escorted you to your new home
So be at peace till we meet again.
