Earl isn't just an average pickle. He wants to be the best and the biggest. Unfortunately, his story isn't for the faint of heart.

Earl's story begins back in school when the challenge was fitting in. He didn't have good grades, was terrible at sports and was always the last picked in gym class. The only thing Earl had going for him was his faith in God.

One day, Earl decided to run for student body president. He felt the average kids weren't being represented and were often the subject of ridicule. In his speech announcing his intention to run Earl had these words to say:

" It doesn't matter whether you are good at sports, have good grades and the last picked in gym class. It only matters that we are all winners in the eyes of God. Many kids today don't know that and base their worth on fitting in. As President, I will send a message to every student. You don't have to try and fit in because you already do."

Earl was heckled and shouted down. Kids didn't receive his words with an open mind. The election came and went however, Earl lost huge. He could only retreat in shame and defeat. Then, it hit him. He could still help kids like he wanted. He prayed and believed God for an opening. It came in the form of an oral speech about identity.

His big day came and he was prepared. He talked about how all of his life, he wanted to be accepted and would do whatever it took to achieve it. Earl shared the about day he
found Christ. " I've learned that fitting in and being great are over rated. You may achieve it for a short time and then it is gone. You aren't great anymore and you don't fit in anymore. What have you gained? "

Sometimes we long for things in life that just aren't meant to be. Dreams, goals etc. We live in a world of injustice and we can easily lose touch or focus of what we want. In the end, all we have is our faith in God. Earl understood this. He also understood that God is in control even when we may lose sight of Him.

Take a lesson from Earl. Fitting in and being great are over rated. To strive for such rewards is to end up being the biggest pickle.
