Encouragement

Most of us, as believers, talk to God all the time………..but how many of us actually devote specific times to prayer. I suspect, not too many. We get caught up in worldly things and then crawling into bed at night remember to talk to God…….usually falling asleep as we pray. Sometimes, upon request, or for a specific cause we may pray more often, but usually when things are going right, in our complacency, an active prayer life never seems to rank high on our list of priorities.
………yet it is the greatest tool we are blessed with…….

Consider this scripture.

Exodus 17: 11,
‘And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Am-a-lek prevailed.’

Moses, an intercessor for his people,………….when he grew weary of prayer, the enemy prevailed, but when he lifted his hands back to God, the enemy was defeated.

As Disciples we are charged with the responsibility of Prayer. To pray one for another. To support one another in prayer.

Exodus 17:
‘But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he stayed thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.’

James 5:15,

‘and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins they shall be forgiven him.’

17,
‘Elias was a man subject to like passions as e are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18, And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.’

Does God hear our prayer? Every single one, even those that are unspoken.

Matthew 21:22,
‘And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.’


I know that in my life, whenever things seem to be falling apart it is because I have let go of His Hand, most of the time unintentionally, life got busy, kids got sick, work became overwhelming………..a thousand different reasons why my prayer life got put on the back burner for when I had more time. Satan does that, whenever we grow closer to the Lord………………puts things in our way. hoping to distance us.
Often he succeeds, but only temporarily, for ,

Romans 8:38,
‘For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nr things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord’

I challenge every reader here who may be feeling despondent, burned out, overwhelmed : rebuke Satan, beg repentance and get back to Prayer. Reclaim your dreams, and those of your fellow man and pray fervently , believing that ‘Our God’ can still move mountains, then watch what He can do. Miraculous things happen through the power of prayer. Amen.
