Author requests article critique

Everyone recognizes the three letters of SOS, to alert others of an emergency. It signals that problems are out of control, and those involved are helpless. Sometimes as individuals we are overwhelmed by our circumstances, such as health problems, financial stress, broken relationships, and fears of our future. We feel like we are in a sinking ship! We have bailed out the waters of defeat until we are exhausted. We need help; we need to be rescued!

I’ve often felt so helpless all I could say as I called out to God was, “HELP!” He knows our needs even before we ask. “ your Father knows what you need, before you ask Him (Matthew 6:8b NAS).” He is just waiting, standing by until He receives our signal, “SOS!”

Simply profound and profoundly simple. I like this and I like it because I too have found it to be true. We aren't heard for our "much speaking" but we are heard because of His love. Must be why it's called GRACE!

I once asked my pastor what seeking the Lord with my whole heart looked like. His response? When you hit the bottom of the barrel, and the only place you can look is up and cry, "Help...". It is then you've just sought the Lord with your whole heart. I see the truth in that. It's usually not until then will we let go of what we can do to fix the problems, and let HIM.

Yeah, I always feel the "SOS" cry in my life. Firstly, when I cried out to God in my need of a Saviour for my dying soul. And I received His mercy and eternal life. Praise God! Secondly, is the cry for help for my family and me to love Him and obey His commands (sweetly and cheerfully :)) with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength as we stand firm in Truth in conflict with sin and the world (James 4:4). John 15...for without Jesus we can do nothing.
