Communication
I, like millions of people all over the world, believers and unbelievers, have watched via TV the bodily death of Ed McMann, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson and have noticed the idolization that has evolved.
Ed McMann was in his latter years but still there were relatives and those that loved him as an individual that were left behind.
Farrah Fawcett was well known and loved by the public in her acting career and now she, too, is gone. She too, had family and friends just as we all do.
Michael Jackson....I watched him when he first started with the "Jackson 5" and was very pleasantly impressed with his talent and that big smile. His type of music is not my style, but watching a child develop his talent, his gift, was interesting to watch. Now he, too, is gone.
At first, as I watched the media coverage on Michael, I thought 'how sad' that the public has made an idol of a performer'....then The Holy Spirit said this to me "...Did you pray for Michael when he was a child? Did you pray for Ed McMann or Farrah Faucett?.... I repented, asked and received forgiveness for my spiritual stupidity.
We watch these entertainers, enjoy their performance and yet very quick to criticize when they fall. Show business is not an easy occupation. When one becomes famous, they are in an extremely protected environment and life as 'John Q Public' is not part of lives. They are hounded by the media so the viewers can get a view of what they are really like when they are alone with only themselves and God. Why are we like that? Am I the only one that has been thinking about this?
I wonder what result we would have had, if someone or a group of intercessors had prayed for Michael (or any other well known figure). How many believers criticize rather than pray for those that are prominent in the entertainment world.
I would like to suggest that each of us go to our Father God and ask for forgiveness for not praying for those that have a platform from which to speak that influences millions of listeners, and begin to pray for them.
We do have the authority to bind the strong man that is trying to control their lives and their thinking. We then should pray that the eyes of their understanding be opened and that their spiritual ears hear the voice of God, that the conviction of the Holy Spirit will come upon them and they will turn to God. At least, then, they can make a choice. Some probably do not even believe there is a God; others do not seem to want any part of God.
Shall we bind together, one in spirit, and pray for these people before they leave planet earth.
