Hallow the footsteps of those near
For time is trapped in moments unspeakable
Lurking through veils of disbelief
I gain hold of a power greater than myself
And seek to understand the frailty of life
My emotions swept in the hurricane that is
Reality

Settled in nothing, finding commitment in all things
For reasons unbeknownst to me
Wind whispers surround my being to form a unity
I'm completely aware of
In my silence, I speak Thunder
Weakened by the billowing clouds of a haunting determination

Directed to meet a destiny nearly nine hundred days before
Touching a complete balance of life- breath given and then stillness
Understanding what it is to be in a moment, in a twinkling
Gathering ones soul as I become witness to
It falling beneath my feet
I shudder in disbelief

Searching the faces of those I pass
Victims mirror themselves in the cavity
Of what could have been me
Overwhelmed with the heaviness of a Life sustained
But not given
I cower in the face of contempt
I work to guide my will to solitude
In the face of strangers hidden in concrete and dust
I touch the birthplace of compassion and heal my heart

With the knowledge of blood shed from any man is still
Blood and Life taken from any land is still Life
And Peace given on any level is still Peace
And Love embraced by any person is still Love
It is in this reckoning I cleanse my hands meticulously as they dangle
Helplessly in the blood of consciousness…
