Sacred Heart of Jesus
Filled with sweet delight
Burning with tender love for us.
A treasury of grace, mercy,
Salvation, power and strength.

Sacred Heart of Jesus
Surrounded with thorns
By the grievances caused by men.
Pierced with a lance
Water flowing to wash our sins
Blood gushing to heal our wounds.

Sacred Heart of Jesus
A beacon of light
In the dark night and on the long road.
Knocking at the door of our hearts
To enter in and reside forever.

Sacred Heart of Jesus
The sweetest heart ever known
In thee, we trust.
Our safest home on earth
To dwell within the kingdom of thy heart.
