Arraigned before leaders
Teachers and elders,
Questioned on the healing Matter,
Peter and John had to answer.

They told them of their Master
They did not minced words
On what they had heard;
Preached boldly, the Word.

‘Leaders, elders, teachers
Perturbed about the good you heard,
Miracle of healing wrought?’
Want to know by whose power
And by whose Name we stand?

‘The same Jesus of Nazareth
The same Jesus you vilified
The same Jesus you rejected
The same Jesus you crucified
The same Jesus that was raised
The Stone the builders rejected,
Now the Chief Cornerstone
The same Jesus Who now heals.'




The elders used legalities
Technicalities
and tradition
in their interrogation.

But Peter simply used
The Power of the Spirit,
That gave him boldness
And utterance anointed,
Leaving the elders in no doubt,
They had been with Jesus.

Receive a new dose
Of the Spirit today!
And as their spirits rose
Empowered by the Holy Spirit,
Your spirit too will rise
With unction to function
To the glory of God!
