"A fool's lips bring him strife, and his mouth invites a beating." (Proverbs 18:06)
Over and over Proverbs tells us that what we say is important. The words of our mouth craft the world in which we live. Wise and godly speech brings blessing, but conversely foolish and destructive words bring trouble. How many of the assaults you read about in the newspaper come from someone "mouthing off"? The person who uses words carelessly is a fool because they don't realize that their own words are causing the trouble they face in their life. How many times are problems between family members created by hurtful words? The Scriptures advise that we bless and not curse. Watch your words and you will have a better life.
