"A man who lacks judgment derides his neighbor, but a man of understanding holds his tongue." (Proverbs 11:12)

Have you ever known someone who has something critical to say about nearly everyone? Unfortunately most of us have. These people are seldom respected or liked because of their negative, judgmental attitude. Essentially they lack good judgment. They show little grace toward others, and often have little experience in the things they criticize. They foolishly shoot off their mouth about their opinions of the choices and actions of others. A wise person knows that silence is better than criticism in many situations, so they hold their tongue. Having patience and grace toward others is wise, and holding your tongue will keep you from the regret of having said something wrong or hurtful. Constantly deriding people will guarantee that you will stay in trouble. Holding your tongue will help give you peace.
