Sunday 1/12/14 Pastor Michael sermon Greater Wealth-Accelerated Blessing, the Power of the Seed Genesis 26:1-5, 12-14
Everyone has potential and seed. It is untapped strength and capabilities. What you can accomplish with your seed. The seed of potential is that you never settle! Donít stop until you reach your full potential! In every seed there is fruit. What you are is in the seed. What you are is in the seed! God wants to bless the potential in us. Our life, your time is a seed -a seed lying dormant. All great things start with a seed. A tree, a man, a woman, a bird, a cow-they all start with a seed. God told Abraham that every nation would be blessed with his seed! In our text, Isaac is in a land that has a famine and itís a place of barrenness. He is thinking of running to Egypt. The easy thing to do is to run when times get hard. God says for Isaac to reach his full potential, he must:
1) Surrender to the Sovereignty of God:
Donít go on your instinct but wait on God. Donít go to Egypt which is the way of the world. God says to trust Him. God wants us to trust him and we learn about God thru the third times. The only one we could depend on was God when we had no food, no money. We learned about God in our hard places! It is in the difficulties of life that God reveals himself. God reveals himself! God told Isaac to stay in His will. Staying in the place of famine made no sense to Isaac. God will tell us to do stuff that we canít understand. Godís ways are not our ways. He is telling us to do stuff, hard stuff, because He knows what is best.
God will sometimes tell us to walk away from stuff that He says is not his will. God is not in the business of blessing people who want to do stuff their way. We must trust God. He is not flaky or fraud. If God said it, He will do it! God cannot lie! God is the same yesterday, today and forever! If He has ever been a good God, He will be a good God through hard times. God will take bad stuff and turn it into good stuff. Stop complaining! You may be complaining about your next level of elevation! God will lift you up. He doesnít want you to depend on people! Trust in God, the sovereignty of God. Wherever God guides, He will provide! Donít chase a job! If where God has put you, the job closes then God will provide you another job. Where God places you is where you stay until God releases you! God told Isaac to stay.
2) Stay in Godís Word:
When we need encouragement, go to the Word of God. Donít depend on family or friends for encouragement. Depend on Godís Word. God CAN and WILL show up in hard places. Stay in Godís Word!
3) Stay in Godís Ways:
Do it Godís way. God works thru our faith. He is faithful! He will never leave us or forsake us. God will bless us, protect us and keep us! God wanted Isaac to sow sacrificially. In verse 12, Isaac sowed in the land and reaped 100 fold and the Lord blessed him! Isaac didnít have a whole lot. All he had was seed. He sowed seed in faith, in the place of famine, in the land that wouldnít do right for others. Isaac sowed his seed in the land anyway and it was his last seed, sacrificial seed. He put seed in the ground and called on God to increase the seed. Isaac trusted God to increase. God will bless our seed. You reap what you sow! If we want to reap greater then sow greater. Sow sacrificially and God will give us stuff we never had before and He will take us places we never been before!
God will bless us! Our seed will be released and God will open doors that we have never seen before! Greater works-greater things then we have ever seen before! Greater! Isaac sowed in famine and sowed seed in the ground by faith! God gave him a great harvest in the same year when it usually would have been a year and a half to harvest. God released his blessing because Isaac released his seed! Isaac became rich and wealthy. Greater is coming! Greater is coming from God!
