It would tell of One Who came this way,
It would speak good news which it gladly heard
From the mouth of Him Who was the Living Word.
Jerusalem’s stones like distant drums
Call out to all her wandering ones;
The Promised One came to His own,
The Rock of Zion, the Corner Stone
If this wall could see it would truly tell
Of a humble One, Who did all things well,
Who spoke God’s word with authority,
Cast the demons out, set the captives free.
If this wall could cry there would be a flood
For the One despised, Who shed His blood,
Who gave His life in this very place,
He was bruised for us—Oh what love and grace!
Jerusalem’s stones like a trumpet blast
Announcing deeds from the distant past,
He bore all our sins—Immanuel,
Did you know He is King of Israel?
If this wall could sing it would sing in praise
Of our Risen Lord, of an empty grave,
Of the One Who trod these dusty streets—
Living testament to death’s defeat.
If this wall could speak it would prophesy
It would shout aloud that His coming’s nigh;
It would tell you things you should have known—
Jesus will be King on David’s throne.
Jerusalem’s stones from the dust cry out,
Those with ears to hear can hear them shout—
“Jesus Christ our Lord is Immanuel
He will reign as King over Israel.”
