between us
a Grand Canyon
of misunderstanding
assumption
blame
Two immovable pillars
cut deep
cut wide
Accusations flow
amplifying
enhancing the
lies inhaled
At this point
there’s no right
or left bank
to our schism
Perception bleeds
from the direction
the sun strikes our eye
Can genesis
be mapped
Is an archeological dig
the only path for
tracing the beginning
of the past
Does it matter
who started it
who struck the first
sharp cutting word
dripping acid anger
eroding
trust
friendship
love
God is love
and we are of God
How can love be
destroyed
God cannot
be destroyed
So where is God
Sandstone
like wood, hay
and stubble
is moveable
God
like granite is
immovable
We have moved
Slithered away
on our own tongues
from the One
Who breathes life
into our bones
No longer can I wait
even though
the chasm of my
choices lie a
silent grave between us
I will take
one small step
toward life
I leap from
the safety of
my side
my understanding
my truth
And I lay me down
vulnerable to the
judgements of
The Way
The Truth
The Life
Friend
Please forgive me
Please release me from
the words of death
I spoke over you
which boomerang
back piercing
my own soul
turning
my own heart to
stone
A white flag
draped around
my opinions
disintegrates
in Grace
In nakedness I rise
Gone are the
lies of my own
making
I now see you
A golden child of God
Peace is between us
The Prince stretches out
His nail scarred hands
reaching across
our great divide
With gratitude and
humility I grasp
the invitation to come
home
