The unforgiving wind does blow until it chills me to my bones.
I spy through the alley a dim light up high over a closed door,
It is the place I have been called to fulfill this sinful chore.
A tall and obese man is the one that leads me to the back.
The nauseating stench does fill every crevice and every crack.
I peer through an open curtain hanging on the backroom wall.
It is a room that I have entered before to satisfy one and all.
A lonely and disgusting John is lounging on the dirty bed.
The discriminating look he gives goes from my toes up to my head.
I smile through the pain of taking off my clothes for such a man,
It is a necessary step along the way I hate but nevertheless I can.
A short and quick moment later he is standing upon the floor.
The knowing from his empty visage does cut me to the core.
I long for a better life as he speedily removes his own filthy shirt.
It is at this moment he lays me down in the muck and in the dirt.
A whisper and a moan from a lustful thought he had to say,
The deliberating life I live he wants to make right and take away.
I muffle my tears as he talks and caresses my every limb,
It is a deplorable thing they all do, all these Johns and him.
A tick and a tock sings from the workings of the wall clock.
The sickening smell from this man could be smelt from the docks.
I bury my nose in his greasy black hair and pray he will soon be done.
It is an hour later when he begs to me to stay and watch the setting sun.
A coffee and a bun waits for me on a napkin on a worn and wooden desk.
The tempting pains of hunger yield me and put me to the test.
I grab the hard bun and drink the cold black sludge as he watches me.
It is him I look past and to the money in his hands that I do see.
A dark and dreary night is this that I walk upon cold stones.
The unforgiving wind does blow until it chills me to my bones.
I spy through the alley another dim light up high over a closed door,
It is another place I have been called to fulfill this sinful chore.
