Second, the noise of the falling water washed away all thoughts from my mind. I turned to my friend and said, “Isn’t this amazing,” but deluge erased my words. I turned my attention to the waterfall that roared.
From time to time, the Bible reveals little glimpses of heaven. If we could peer with supernatural eyes and hear with supernatural ears, we might catch one of those glimpses, “… as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, ‘Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!’” (Rev. 19:6 NKJV).
Half-a-million cubic meters of water falls every minute at Victoria Falls. As overwhelming as that might be, this heavenly multitude adores the God that “… is mightier than the noise of many waters, …” (Ps. 93:4 NKJV). While He could drown us with His overpowering presence, however, He stretches out a hand, inviting us to join Him at the top of the flood. What a great and loving God He is.
