Topic: CALENDAR (10/20/16)
On our train trip around the nation, my wife and I had the opportunity to meet people from all over the country and around the world. We traveled by bedroom compartment which included meals in the dinning car. The tables are made to seat four people, so we had interesting conversations with new found friends.

At one meal we were seated with a lady traveling with her granddaughter. The lady told us about her train trips and all the states she had visited with stop overs in many cities. She mentioned she was 102 years young and her home state of Oregon had recently renewed her drivers license another four years., I noticed she did not use a cane and was very active, As a Christian newspaper column writer, I asked her if she attended church? Her answer was, " I never miss Church on Sunday or the prayer meetings on Wednesday."
I gave her a column about Christians living longer and the Lord answering our prayers.

The Bible, God's Word tells us what God will do for us if we call on the Lord in our time of need. Psalm 91 verses 15 and 16. " He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him. and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation," That is a powerful statement from our gracious and loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as we put our hope, faith, and trust in Him..

Later, I gave a copy to a lady and after reading it she asked, " Why do you Christians want to live longer? I told her the Lord gives Christians a long life here on the earth, so we as His servants can spread the Gospel around the world. The more we serve the Lord the more He showers us with material, physical, and spiritual blessings. She read the message on how to be saved and put our Hope, Faith and Trust in the Lord.

I liked your article. It has a powerful message on witnessing. The very elderly lady was testimony to how God holds our timeline. It seemed to me--but who am I?--that it did not fit into the category of CALENDAR. But it was a good message, nevertheless...Helen
