Across a great divide,
It gives us hope and faith
To reach the other side.
A spectacular image
Composed of power and might,
Made by faithful hands
Gentle and light.
The blueprints were drawn
The choice craftsman selected,
His mission essential
His life to erect it.
The builder decided
Without hesitation,
To fulfill the petition
And lay the foundation.
The nails driven deeply
The wood stands secure,
The hands of the Master
Pain and suffering endured.
There is a bridge that stands
The meaning understood,
It fills the empty gulf
Where at the edge we stood.
Staring at the vastness
The impossible abyss,
Yearning for eternal life
Where our God exists.
The way to God established
The bridge to the other side,
Where the Master Builder’s waiting
His arms open wide.
He came to give His life
And give is what He did,
A bridge for us to cross
So that we could live.
