When I was in high school, I was being bullied emotionally and physically in a windowless classroom. The teacher did not do anything, a few times I would hit them back, but not always because I knew that Jesus never defended himself when He was beheaded to the cross. Back when I was in high school, I had to fend for myself. The school had never said that there was zero tolerance for bullying.
I had a friend who lived next door to me whom I was friends for about 14 years. Her name was Joanne and her husband was Klaas. She often said that she she loved me a sister, but I did not believe that was true. We are not friends anymore. She took money for me each month, and she had me believe she was going to get me a car, but it was trip for them to buy drugs and go to Cuba with her husband. I was mad. Joanne was brought up in a Christian home.
When there was time when I gave a hundred dollars less money for her than I usually did then she said, "Cheryl it stinks. That is not enough money!" I told I needed the extra money for rent. She did not seem to care because she also said, "That amount is no good.
I told my husband Kevin about when we were dating back then about the money I gave Joanne, he went to the mall, and he confronted her about the money. After that Joanne showed up at the restaurant where I worked , she had me sign my name on a piece of paper towel. I signed it because I was afraid that I would not see any of it. She gave me 500.00 even though it was a bit more. I went with her to a church service in the evening, and that was the last time we seen each other. I told that I was seeing Kevin whom I married 22 years ago, and she did not want anything to do with me.
For quite some time now I attended a bible study for women which was called the "Coffee Break Program." We each others stories, and we have bible studies together. We also pray for each other. God is a true friend whom I should embrace. It's good to have true friends to embrach as well.

Bible study and chatting with friends is always a superb buffer for "hurt and disappointment" especially being in the Word, which is the best comfort of all.
God Bless~
