As I try to take control of my life, I think of the times where I was out of control which cause me to get in trouble with the law. For instance I was at a bar drinking and dancing at a bar. I through a glass at the women's stall in the bathroom. I got kicked out of a night club for acting crazy because I twirled myself around on the dance floor. I was afraid that no guy would want me because I was weird or ugly. I was told that I was ugly back in high school several times. I felt suicidal.

Another thing was a friend and a neighbor whom I known for 14 years has used me for my money. She and husband said that I will get a car from them, and I was excited about it. I trusted them, so I continued to give them about 2 or 3 hundred a month. In the end my friend, Joanne said that the guy whom I gave money to for the car took off, and I was very disappointed. I worked hard for that money!

There was no car to begin. So I had the impression that Joanne and her husband Klaas took the money to go to Cuba. they went away there while I was giving them money. I drank a bit during that time. So I told my boyfriend Kevin during that time who is my husband now as to what happened. He confronted Joanne at the shopping mall about he money she owed my back. A week later she came where I worked, and she gave me 500.00 dollars. Even though she owed me more than that. She wanted me to sign my name saying that I received all the money. She handed a piece of paper towel from the washroom, and signed my name.

I was afraid that I would not say any of the money at all from what gave her if did not sign my name. I was happy to get any of it all. Shorty after that we have not seen or communicated with each other for years.

Seven years later, I settled down, and I had a baby. During my pregnancy I felt like drinking, so I was about to go into a liqueur store but it was closed. Weeks later from that time, I was glad I didn't drink booze. I had a healthy baby boy, and now I have a daughter. 6 years ago I phoned Joanne and I told I was not mad at her anymore. She told me to take care of myself. A program called "Freedom Session" has helped me take control of my life.
