Interesting! Every time I thought I knew where this one was going, you shook your finger and me and took the story someplace else. I like it when writers do that.
Yes, I agree with Jan. You trick the reader in assuming that there will be romance but instead just in Reed's heart. But I like the hope that the young man has and that Kate is so dedicated to God and her family, and wants to be led by the Lord in her decisions for her future. Well done! I wanted to read more to see what happened next year :0)

This was really sweet and romantic. Your descriptions are wonderful! I really liked this line, "Today the swirling fog and a summer breeze carried romance across the top of the knoll and down into tomorrow." I'd love to read the rest of this story!:)
