SONG OF CREATION

I have been blessed to view one of the most beautiful symphonies in the world. Everyday I am witness to the majestic hand of God and the masterpiece he skillfully composed. Outside my window God has carefully placed an array of ever changing skies, powerful ocean waters, mighty mountains, and vast forests.

With His palette He created a symphony of harmonious colors and soft melodic blends. You can almost hear the soft plucking of harp strings and the sounds of a piano sonata unfolding as God arranged and manipulated each masterful stroke of color. With baton in hand, the Master Conductor picked up the tempo as He added pulsating and energetic colors, full of vibrancy and brilliance. I can imagine Beethoven’s 5th Symphony playing as God’s brush dipped, and twirled, and danced across the canvas.

From His brush a beautiful song began to take form. The tone was full of beauty and without flaw. The pitch was crisp and faultless, the melody sweet and pure. The arrangement was breathtaking, astonishing, stirring, and awe-inspiring. It started slowly and then with excitement building, unleashed wonder and beauty. The “Song of Creation” had been birthed.

And then He began to add the accompaniments. The shrill chirping sounds of a cricket, the sweet melodies from a songbird, the nightly choruses from the tree frog. One by one he added more musicians to the earthly orchestra: the loon, the timber wolf, and the whale, creatures both big and small. Raindrops, waves, wind, and thunder were then added for rhythm and drama.

As I look out my window the song comes alive, my heart quickens to keep rhythm and my soul begins to recognize. And as with all creatures that have been placed on the earth, a song lies inside awaiting its birth.
As I see the majestic beauty set before my eyes, a song of praise and thanksgiving begins to arise. “Praise be to God of heaven and earth” and “You are Awesome, Mighty, and Holy” are some of the words. When the “Song of Creation” stirs our soul, a chorus springs forth from the creatures below. They lift up their words, filled with worship and praise, to the Master Conductor of all creation displayed.
