The heavens, euphonic and full of activity, hovered above in an apparent void to her human perspective. God however, in His ultimate wisdom was recording every tear, every lament upon His scroll of life. “I know you hear me Lord. Why do you seem so distant, so far away?”
A surging feeling of agitation began to surface. She had to go sit with him, be with him, and comfort him, but how? How could she push beyond herself, her fear, her anger, her dread? Even if she had total restraint of her words, they would indeed be heard through her charade of inadvertent conduct.
Suddenly, as if being pulled from the inside out, her spirit was transported to the heart of the earth. In an instant, she was ushered into the middle of battling spirits in a surreal controlled chaos. It was a vision of light and dark wrapped into eternity. Wits and words, wisdom and intent were the battlements within the walls of the angelic realm.
Suspended in time and space, she found herself as the guest of honor in the battle at hand. Cantankerous voices began berating her “You are a weak woman. You are pitiful and pathetic. You’ll never be able to handle this. What will people think? What will they say?” She began hemorrhaging spiritual energy until the melodic and vigorously encouraging voices emanating from the warriors of heaven washed over her, saturating her through and through effectually pulling her in an upward gravitational trajectory.
Stunned from the brief yet monumental vision, she became keenly aware that she was back within walls of brick and mortar. She lifted herself off the floor feeling as though her heart and soul remained glued to the ground in utter submission to a will not her own. Again she pleaded, “Please Lord, let this cup pass, but… if not, help me to do your will.”
Tired and tattered from the anticipation of what she was about to walk into, she heard a voice from beyond the parameters of this world, “MY CHILD, YOU ARE TO BE MY HANDS AND FEET. FOR WHEN YOU HAVE NO WORDS, YOUR ACTIONS WILL SPEAK FOR YOU. I WILL GIVE YOU A DEEP LOVE, SO MUCH SO IT WILL OVERWHELM YOU AT TIMES.” And then, as quickly as the call came, it was gone. She trembled with fear as her spirit filled with pride and passion at the call from her commander in chief. It was a call to arms in the battle of the ages; to love in spite of fear.
She arrived at the hospital to find her worst nightmare had come true. A strange infusion of purpose erupted deep within the framework of her soul as she crossed the threshold of a tangibly sterile prison of pain. Their eyes met in a collision of uncertainty. There were no words. But as she moved closer, the valley of fear dissipated with each step. She crawled in next to him and laid her head upon his chest. A cascade of their tears flowed like a tributary and pooled into the small crevice of her neck.
They lay there for hours. Resting in the silence. Both unsure of what to say. However, it was the voice of her hands, her eyes and her heart that touched him in a way where words would have fallen short. In the stillness of sound, you could hear, “I love you. I’m here for you. We will find our way together.”
She reached around her neck and unclasped the cross he had given her almost ten years before and placed it in the palm of his hand. The significance and provision found in the symbol of their hope passed between them once again.
It was in that moment she had experienced denying her own feelings in order to love another. It would be the first of a lifetime of opportunities to allow the love of their God to overflow freely through her to prove in Christs’ economy, actions can speak louder than words.

Good job! ^_^
Watch for cliches and often-used phrases...especially in the end: you don't want to end your wonderful story with an old cliche.
This is a very strong entry, and I like it a lot.
