Come close to God
A reflection on James 4
Come close to God
And He'll come close to you.
Humble yourselves before Him
And He will lift you up.
Never judge your brothers
Or boast of anything.
God is the judge
The King of everything.
Submit yourself to God
Who gives you grace so strong.
Resist the devil stubbornly
He'll flee, you'll not do wrong.
Don't go seeking pleasure
To fill your hearts desire.
That means you're a world friend
Against God and His empire.
