Marriage

---

We’ve trod the path of life together,
We’ve scaled the heights and trudged the hollows;
Our love grew strong through stormy weather
And blossomed in the calms to follow.

Hand in hand our journey started,
In carefree, gleeful, glad romance;
Through flowered vales we skipped lighthearted
Meeting life and love in merry dance.

Three children joined in on our journey;
New responsibilities brought change;
Gone---- lithesome days of little worry---
A different dance, but love remained.

Our children now, do their own trekking,
And we have come to another phase;
Our feet have slowed to careful stepping;
Less frolics now; these are slow waltz days.

Arm in arm we will face tomorrow,
Drawing strength from all our yesterdays---
Some future times of joy and sorrow---
We will overcome by God’s great grace.

Our hope’s in Christ who lights our footsteps;
There is no despair when He’s our Guide;
Be there mountain tops or valley depths,
By faith we know, Jesus walks beside.

When our trek’s done and life is over
We will cross to Him on Heaven’s shore---
Our glorious hope, to live for ever---
Our eternal home for evermore.
