Jesus,
shine your light upon me,
cleanse my weary, tired soul.
Clouds of this world
muddle the walls of my mind,
I can not devise
I simply fall.
I crawl reaching
for your grasp,
knowing I’m safe at last.
You died for me,
your blood you shed
to save my soul,
yet sometimes
I still do not give you my whole.
I hear your cries
each time I slip astray,
I feel your anguish
as you watch me stumble.
Gently you pick me up,
brush me off
standing me amidst the
path which you have created
for me.
I drop upon my knees,
praying you will
guide me amongst my walk.
Jesus,
shine your light upon me,
for I know now
without you,
there is no strength
within me.
