On their faces an unknown fear
Down their faces runs a tear
Inside rages an unseen war
Family they may see no more

Do they fight for what is right
Do they run in dark of night
Should they fight for freedom’s sake
Other’s lives they now must take

Some are different once back home
Stories in their minds still roam
Of terror, fear, and courage too
Of death and life begun anew

Of many bullets whizzing past
Of fighting right until the last
Their eyes saw many comrades die
In bloody battlefields they lie

Freedom in which they believed
In the end they had achieved
We remember those valiant men
All of those one million and ten

They went through torture, fear, and death
They watched their friends take their last breathe
Freedom cost a lot you see
Why do we waste our liberty

Sacred freedom is torn away
When students are told not to pray
The lives of men are wasted then
All of those one million and ten
