Obtaining an aerial view of life

I have heard

people who love to fly, say that flying offers them a knew sense of freedom, and houses and cars that once seemed gigantic, look like toys from the air.
As I thought about it, I wondered if that was what things looked like from Gods prospective. So, I took that concept one step further.

God I knew, wanted me to have Biblical joy, but I wondered how I could achieve that in my day to day life. “Was it really possible to achieve this elevated
view,” I asked myself? “Was it possible to keep it in the hard times” I wondered? As I thought about this, I began to ponder on this scripture in Colossians
3; 1-2. Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds
on things

Above, not on earthly things.

Had I ever ask myself what it meant to be raised with Christ, let alone seated with him? Then looking at it from a new prospective, I realized that these
had been only words on a page to me.

So, I put this scripture together with other scriptures where Paul says we are “New creations in Christ,”2 Corinthians, 5-17 and Jesus says that we have
to become like “little children.” Matthew 18-3 In so doing, I would l

ike to mention some things to consider.

I believe that as a whole, Christianity has become to negative. But I also believe that we need to have a realistic faith. In my reading of the bible, I
do not see where Jesus came to shield us from hardship. his message on the contrary, was just the opposite. He taught people, that this was a cold cruel
world, with troubles peculiar to it. But he also taught His disciples, that He had over come it, and that is where this positive out look that I am speaking
of comes from. john 16, 33. The bible refers to the confidence that we can have in Him, as our “hope in Christ.”Titus 2-13.

Many times in day to day life, we get caught up in our problems rather than being caught up in Christ which will lead us to there solution. I am not suggesting
a pie in the sky Christianity, or a Christianity where we look at life through rose colored glasses. What I am suggesting, is backing up, and taking a
long hard look at our lives. Paul calls this, “self examination.” 1Corinthians, 11-28.

In order to surmount our problems, we need to spend time alone with god each day. Although this may sound basic, it is cru Tule if we are to live a transcendent
lifestyle. Too many of us try to do things for God, with out spending time with God. As a blind person, God has helped me overcome obstacles that were
seemingly impossible. For example, many times in life, He has shown me where things are in the physical world that I could not have found otherwise, and
He can do the same for you in the spiritual realm. The fact of the matter is that we are all blind spiritually, and God wants to give us strength to face
each day.

Many times as Christians, I believe that we concentrate more on what we can’t do, than what we can do in Christ. Philippians, 4-13 Let me explain. Our relationship
With Christ too often, becomes just a historical fact. Like a child playing with a new toy, the novelty wears off, and the newness that we have experienced
in Him, becomes old hat.

If we are going to experience a new life that leads us to this elevated view, the bible says that we must “walk” in newness, or practice newness as a lifestyle.
Romans 6-4.

If I am really going to practice this, I told myself, what I have to do, is to develop my imagination. I thought about Einstein’s comparison, between
imagination and knowledge. Einstein had said that imagination was actually the more powerful of the two.

As I reflected on this, I wondered if to many times Christians hadn’t let biblical knowledge squelch their imaginations.

I don’t mean to imply by this, that we shouldn’t obtain as much head knowledge as possible, but the secret is transferring this knowledge from our heads
to our hearts. When we do this, knowledge will be wed with imagination, and we can see ourselves surmounting obstacles through Christ. These two forces
coupled together, can create a faith that is unconquerable. David had that kind of faith when he conquered goliath.1 Samuel 17.

To truly remain in this elevated mode however, we need to also foster creativity. In our time alone with God, we need to ask him to help us to look at our
problems, in a different light. In other words, when obstacles in life try to knock us down, we need to learn to look at them from His prospective. When
it seems like we are over whelmed, we need to ask Christ for the strength to get up fighting.

Again as a blind person, developing creativity, has been a skill in itself for me. This is because, people have tried to tell me what I could and couldn’t
do. I have found however, that in order to surmount these obstacles, I have had to come up with different ways of doing things, or use creativity. We all
run up against nay sayers, but In Christ, I do not have to accept that kind of negative thinking and neither do you. The problem is that we listen to what
people say, instead of listening to what God says.

Let’s work on developing a positive view of life where we can look down on our problems from our seats with Christ. In this way, we will develop a faith
that can’t be shaken in the hard times. For as I often say, “God can see better than any of us.” So try and see your problems from His prospective, and
they will most certainly appear smaller.
