Echeer: Confessions of a nit-wit

Confessions of a nit-wit. As a former service manager, I should
know better, but the last time I plugged in the recharger for my
scooter, I forgot that I removed the battery to make it lighter to load
in the car. Therefore, the battery didn't get charged -- it wasn't in
the scooter -- dumb, dumb, dumb! I'm glad that you don't do dumb
things like that.

Sometimes we are guilty of reading the Bible like that -- our brain
is disengaged by daydreaming of something else while we dutifully
read The Word. When we are through we have to shake our head
and say, "Now what did I just read." Fess up -- we are all guilty of
that at times. Result -- our spiritual battery doesn't get charged.

The best way to read is to discipline our mind so that every time
we read, we are reading it as though it is the first time we have ever
seen it. You'll be amazed at what new insight you'll gain. Be a
bug-eyed reader and forget all your past preconceptions while you
read. Look for new truth -- always.

From your favorite Old Testament book, Lamentations, we find
these wonderful verses in 3:22 & 23(nlt), "The unfailing love of
the Lord never ends! By His mercies we have been kept from
complete destruction. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin
afresh each day." So, let's read His words "afresh" as though they
are as new as the morning dew.
