Yesterday I got to hold a brand new baby,
a beautiful little boy,
and thought 'this is the purest expression
of God's eternal love and joy!'

Skin so soft, like touching a cloud,
hands and feet so impossibly small,
what a wonder to see God's newest creation,
sheer joy to be part of it all.

It made me think of the joy in heaven
when Jesus rescued me,
and made me over into a new creation,
forever His, and forever free!

Now each day is full of promise,
things that are yet to be,
and I run to meet them with open arms
for you are there beside me!

Jesus didn't just stop when he gave me a new heart,
He filled my life with things that are true,
and then He gave me the desire of my heart,
He gave me love when He gave me you!

Together we start each shiny new day,
see the blessings, the mercies brand new?
They are all there to increase the joy
in knowing how much I LOVE YOU!
