“Back to Eden-Heaven Awaits”

The Bible, all 66 books, all 1,189 chapters, and all 31,173 verses, was created as our roadmap to Heaven. Needless to say trying to compress it into 750 words will leave a few gaps. But I hope to give you a glimpse of the ‘Unseen.’
More than anything in life we should want to see Heaven! To know it’s tangibility and substance. To hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant…” But we struggle seeing or feeling what we read in scripture even with the Holy Spirit’s intervention.
Heaven is where our LORD and Savior awaits us. It’s where Father God, our Creator, sits on His throne. It’s where the Holy Spirit is guiding and compelling us to go.
It’s also the second Eden. Where God Himself will come and be with us; “We will be his people and God himself will be with us and be our God!” Rev. 21:3
Eden was God’s perfect gift to Creation until the deed was forfeited.
Adam’s error in judgment, called a ‘trespass’, would cause the need for God to send a more perfect Gift.
“But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!” Romans 5: 15
What a Gift! We got it all back… through the blood of His Son, Jesus.
Having redeemed us, Jesus wants us to have a hope-filled vision of our true home with an eagerness to get to there.
Eden was, and will be again, the most beautiful place on Earth. It was the place God walked with Adam & Eve. It was then, and will be again, formidable, tangible, and real in every sense of the word.
Heaven is a place, not a formless fantasy… somewhere out there beyond our grasp.
When we’re young and full of imagination we perceive something wonderful, something unparalleled in beauty and creation. A place that our Father God has made… just for us… especially for us!
But as time goes by we can loose that child-like exuberance and unquestioning vision of our future home.
We forget that the little children will play among formerly ferocious animals such as lions and bears and cobras. And these same children will lead these same animals around as pets. Isaiah 11: 6,7
We forget about the river of the water of life, flowing from the throne of God as it runs through the center of the New Jerusalem, and on each side of the river stands the tree of life with it’s twelve crops of fruit to heal the nations. (the healing of spiritual wounds!) Rev. 22:1,2
But look at vs. 3; “No longer will there be any curse.”
It’s almost beyond our ability to comprehend this verse. All we’ve ever known is a fallen world. Our minds play at the edges of it; no more sin… the enemy is removed… satan is gone… we will no longer be tempted… we will no longer struggle against _______ (fill in the blank or blanks!)
We will be in the best shape of our life… not in the past twenty years, but of our entire life! Our energy and strength will be limitless.
The blind will see… and the colors they will see will leave them in awe. The lame will leap… without the thought of pain or injury!
The deaf will hear… and the first Voice they hear will say, “Well done!”
The dumb will shout praises unto the LORD and He will call them by name!
Kent Crockett jokingly wrote, “I once was blind but now I squint.” We will no longer squint! We will see everything with the clear eyes of the Spirit, in truth.
There will be complete restoration in Heaven.
Not just physical, although that will be wonderful, but emotional and spiritual restoration; all wounds will be healed!
No jealousy… no enmity… no deceit… no fear… no doubt… no death… no loss… no more questions!
We will all be fully restored… back to Eden… to the Garden, to walk with God and know Him fully, even as we are fully known! 1 Cor. 13:12
This is only a glimpse at best. “For no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him, but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. ” 1 Cor. 2:9, 10 - Isaiah 64:4
So ask the Spirit to fill in the gaps while you read the Word. It’s in there, dig it out.
