We ponder this magnanimous world that
we can almost comprehend, seeing, feeling
animate beings, driven by an inbred love,
for something greater than our very lives.

In our infancy we learned the love of God,
burned it deep into our souls, this icon
to insure our everlasting life, now still
we weep when e're we see the cross.

The rugged timbers, holding fast the purest soul
who ever lived, innocent, yet condemned to death,
by those who could not hear the message from His
dying lips, forgive them.

For they know not what they do, the decades to
milleniums, and still mankind wonders what these
precious words contained, He died insuring our
innocence, our survival.

Upon this unremitting, heartless spheer that we
call home, yet we know because of what He said,
we shall witness Heaven, and her precious streets
of gold, forever.
