Sergius Paulus was enjoying his breakfast for a change and was in a pretty good mood today. Because Sergius was the Roman proconsul for the entire Island of Cyprus, his breakfast and all of his meals were usually interrupted by aides asking him something. Sergius was still eating breakfast when an aide knocked and walked in.
" Your court advisor, Elymas is here" the aide said.
" Show him in" Sergius said as he swallowed the last bite of his breakfast.
Elymas walked in and sat down across the table from Sergius with a stern look on his face.
" What's wrong Elymas" asked Sergius as he stared at his long time court advisor.
" I've been hearing disturbing news about you" said Elymas.
" What news is that" Sergius replied as he yawned with boredom.
" I heard that you are interested in meeting with those three jewish evangelists who have come to the Island" said Elymas.
" How did you find that out?" asked Sergius with a curious look on his face.
" I have my sources" replied Elymas with a smirk.
An aide came to me and said he had seen these three jewish evangelists preaching in one of Paphos's jewish synagogues. The aide told me people were very receptive to their message and some were becoming converts. The aide kept telling me about these three men and my interest started to increase.
