I was reading about making look-alike gemstones in clay, and it struck me so that it illustrated so well where I am today.

There were three different colors - two were pastel, the third was white - making me think of me and you and Jesus being our light.

Each color was rolled out to a rope long and thin, and I thought how lonely each of us was to be alone seeking Him.

Then all the three colors were wound together, becoming a larger braid, and I thought how safe we all become, for in Him we are never afraid.

Then the colors were kneaded into each other, making a beautiful blend, and I thought of how Jesus colors our lives, with no beginning and no end.

The blended piece is then flattened out, and mica is scattered all around, and I thought of the blessings and the grace in our lives can always be found.

The clay is kneaded again, baked and sanded until it shines, and I thought of each day that we spend together, each one like a jewel so fine.

I thank God each day that He brought us together, and that He is the center of our lives, and for the love that grows deeper each day, making it such a joy to be alive.

Each day is like a jewel that we add to our treasure, they glow with soft and beautiful hues, each one an expression of how we feel - your love for me, and mine for you.
