The day of the incident, the storm on the Sea came very quickly and very powerfully. Hakim looked at the Sea and to his surprise, saw a small boat approaching from the distance. The boat was tossing to and fro on the choppy water and Hakim saw a tall bearded man get up from the back of the boat and put his arms up in the air. To Hakim's amazement, the wind died down and the waves stopped and the Sea was calm as glass.

Hakim saw the small boat pull into the shore and Hakim saw two men with oars in their hands get out of the boat. All of a sudden, Hakim saw the Madman rush out of a cave rattling a chain and running toward the shore. The Madman reached the boat and screamed at the men as they raised their oars as defensive weapons. The tall bearded man got out of the boat and confronted the Madman. The Madman bellowed " what business do you have with me, Jesus of Nazareth" as the Madman fell flat on his face on the sand. Jesus yelled at the Madman " come out of this man and what is your name?". " Legion" yelled a voice that came out of the Madman.

Hakim's swine herd was nearby this scene and Hakim heard a strange voice again come out of the Madman. " Don't send us away, send us into that swine herd instead" asked the strange voice. " Go" said Jesus and all of a sudden, Hakim saw all of his swine herd squeal, run over the cliff into the Sea and drown. Hakim ran in horror into the town of Gadara and told the townspeople what had happened. Townspeople ran to the beach and saw the Madman normal again and praising Jesus at his feet. The townspeople pleaded with Jesus to leave and not come back. The Madman asked Jesus if he could come and join his group. Jesus told the Madman to stay and tell people what had happened to him. The Madman stayed and did what Jesus had told him to do.
